WIH International Hospital: A Legacy of Care

Dr. Chettasak (formerly known as Dr. Chettawut) Tulayaphanich, a distinguished plastic and reconstructive surgeon serving as the CEO of WIH International Hospital, established his cosmetic surgery center in 1998. Operating consistently within this facility, he has acquired significant expertise in his field over the years.

Beyond his surgical achievements, Dr. Chettasak is internationally recognized as an advocate and ally for the LGBTQ+ and transgender community. His work is guided not only by medical excellence but also by a profound respect for the dignity, identity, and aspirations of every patient.

WIH Hospital Thailand | Innovation and Excellence in Gender-Affirming  and Specialized Surgery

Due to Dr. Chettasak’s renowned expertise in gender-affirming surgeries for transgender patients, the surgery center has gained international recognition. It has attracted a considerable number of satisfied patients, leading to positive referrals. Acknowledging the potential for business expansion, Dr. Chattasak and the Tulayapanich family have developed a strategic plan, envisioning the creation of a comprehensive, state-of-the-art specialized hospital. This initiative aims to address the rising demand for complex surgeries, offering extensive services for both outpatient and inpatient care.

The WIH Hospital project began in 2012, featuring an architectural design inspired by origami, the Japanese art of paper folding. This design symbolizes transformation, precision, and artistry—qualities that resonate deeply with the work of skilled surgeons who reshape and enhance lives.

The Origin of “WIH” Name

The letter “W” comes from the Thai word “วัทธนเชฏฐ์” (Watthana Chet), meaning someone with a beautiful and noble appearance, wealth, and exceptional intelligence. The letters “I” and “H” stand for International and Hospital, respectively.

The Concept Behind the WIH Hospital Logo

The idea behind the WIH Hospital logo is to create a modern and easily memorable design. It features a modified quadrilateral resembling the appearance of a trapezoid and transforms in shape to depict the face of a deity or angel adorned with a crown-like headdress.
