Insurance Information: WIH International Hospital


At WIH International Hospital, we aim to make your medical experience seamless by assisting you with your health insurance claims. Our dedicated Benefits Coordination Team is here to guide you every step of the way, whether you are visiting us for outpatient care or being admitted for inpatient treatment.

Documents to Prepare When Using Insurance Benefits

Before your visit, please have the following items ready:

  1. Valid Insurance Policy Card
  2. National ID Card or any government-issued photo ID
  3. Additional documents required by your insurance provider (if applicable)​

Outpatient Services


If you are visiting WIH International Hospital for an outpatient consultation or treatment:

  1. Registration
    • Present your insurance card and ID at the registration counter.
    • Our registration officer will verify your details and explain your insurance coverage conditions.
  2. Consultation & Claim Process
    • After you consult with the doctor, our finance officer will prepare the insurance claim form for you to sign.
    • If your policy does not cover the full cost of treatment, you will be responsible for paying the difference, following your insurance terms.
  3. If Not Covered by Insurance
    • If your policy does not cover the service or conditions, you will need to pay for treatment directly.
    • You may still submit the claim form and official receipt to your insurance company for possible reimbursement.

Inpatient Services


If you require hospital admission for inpatient care:

  1. Admission Process
    • Present your insurance card and ID at the Inpatient Admission Department.
    • Our staff will provide claim documents and a copy of your insurance card for your signature.
  2. Coordination with Insurance Company
    • Our Benefits Coordination Team will contact your insurance provider to check eligibility for Fax Claim (direct billing).
    • You will be informed if Fax Claim is applicable before your treatment.
  3. Upon Discharge
    • If Fax Claim is approved, our finance officer will coordinate with your insurance company to settle medical expenses, submit required documents (including the medical summary), and ensure you receive maximum insurance benefits.
    • If there are costs not covered by your insurance, you will be notified to pay the balance before discharge.
  4. If Fax Claim is Not Applicable

The hospital will prepare all necessary claim documents and receipts for you to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.

  1. Contact your insurance provider directly to confirm your benefits at WIH International Hospital.
  2. Provide them with our hospital name and planned treatment details for accurate coverage information.
  3. You can also contact our Benefits Coordination Department to help verify your policy before your visit.

      1.Initial Contact & Assessment:

Reach out to us and complete our confidential health information form. We will review your details to assess your eligibility for the procedure.

      2.Procedure Confirmation:

Once your eligibility is confirmed, we will help you determine the surgical procedure that best aligns with your needs.

     3.OHIP Funding Request:

WIH International Hospital prepares and submits a detailed funding request directly to OHIP on your behalf. Please allow at least one week for OHIP’s approval.

     4.Approval & Scheduling:

Once OHIP approves the funding and confirms the covered services and amount, we will notify you to proceed. You will be scheduled for surgery within the typical 6-month to 1-year timeline from the date of OHIP approval.

     5.Pre-operative Planning:

We will guide you through all pre-operative consultations and preparations to ensure you are ready for your surgery.

     6.Arrival & Care:

Arrive in Thailand and check in at WIH International Hospital. Our expert team will provide exceptional surgical care and comprehensive post-operative support.

    7.Direct Billing:

We handle all the paperwork. WIH submits the bill directly to OHIP, and they process the payment, ensuring a direct and hassle-free settlement.
